SPL adjustable swaybar endlinks for the Porsche 996 / 997 911 and 986 / 987 / 981 / 982 (718) Boxster and Cayman feature massive PTFE-lined FK 1/2" bearings with a large-diameter turnbuckle to provide the highest load capacity, service life, and rigidity to maximize the effectiveness of OEM or aftermarket sway bars. Custom heat-treated chromoly high-misalignment studs allow for extreme articulation angles (up to 65°) to prevent endlink bind when used with adjustable sway bars.
Easily adjust the length to eliminate unwanted preload on the sway bars, set the ideal bar angle, and, if equipped with ride-height adjustable coilovers, properly corner balance your car. The result is better handling, more sway bar tuning options, and less variation in performance between right-hand and left-hand turns. Even stock cars can take advantage of this upgrade by simply dialing out the swaybar preload that occurs when you sit in the car to drive it, and from the settling that occurs as the OEM suspension racks up miles.

Maximize Sway Bar Effectiveness
SPL endlinks improve the effectiveness and response of any sway bar by reducing the flex that occurs in weaker OEM and aftermarket endlinks. Many endlinks will begin to stretch and deflect within the first 0.5" (12.7mm) of suspension travel from what we've seen in testing. This means the sway bar is going to act like a much smaller diameter bar and be lazy to contribute it's spring rate to the front or rear. This makes for a car that seems to have a mind of it's own depending on how the front and rear endlinks differ in rigidity, relative to the bar's rate.
That's why SPL endlinks utilize a 0.5" (12.7mm) threaded rod end into a 6061-T6 billet turnbuckle with a minimum thickness of 0.5" (12.7mm), resulting in a rigid endlink that isn't needlessly heavy or bulky. The larger thread diameter also allows for additional adjustment range while maintaining strength at the threaded section, which is a critical area
Eliminate Preload
Optimize Weight Distribution for Symmetrical Handling
Each corner of the car is at a slightly different ride height. Even a couple millimeters of difference or the weight of the driver will cause preload in the sway bar that causes weight to shift around due to the difference in corner stiffness (wheel rate). Adjustable endlinks allow you to remove this preload, and with height adjustable suspension you can properly "cornerbalance" the chassis to improve handling further by evening the static weight on the tires.

Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH)
Endlinks rigidly connect the suspension to the sway bar which is mounted to the chassis, giving a pathway for tire noise to reach the cabin. Some OEM endlinks utilize different materials and/or a specific mass to attenuate this noise. Going to any upgraded endlink will potentially increase the tire noise, which presents as a dull or rhythmic "roar." It is a very tolerable, "background" noise for most people that can be further knocked down with a little mass-loaded vinyl or 3M Flexile Acoustic Material.
Due to the large size of the bearings, chosen to improve service life and strength, there can be a longer wear-in period. During this time and after prolonged periods of the car sitting parked, there can be random groans until the bearing establishes a lower surface friction by depositing PTFE from the liner to the spherical and overcoming the initial stiction. This can be mitigated with a dry PTFE lubricant.

COILOVERS MAY ALTER ENDLINK LENGTHS
Some coilovers may require shorter endlinks for proper operation and clearance. The OEM length range endlinks (SPL FE 996) can be adjusted between 7.4" (188mm) and 8.9" (226mm).
We offer 12 different turnbuckle lengths to accommodate any length you need via our custom sway bar endlink program, or you can simply email us and let us know you need a custom length SPL FE 996.
