SPL pro front tension rods are adjustable for front caster, spherical metal bearing improves steering feedback and reduces deflection in the suspension for maximum performance. Features that distinguish our tension rods from competitors:
Beefy 32mm 6061-T6 billet aluminum rod
Tough QA1 3/4" teflon-lined chromoly rod ends
Seals-It rod end seals protects the rod ends for maximum life, these seals will not crack or split like dust boots!
Built in mounting for our optional brake cooling air deflectors
OEM quality hardware
Anodized Black (Red and Blue are discontinued)

Our sheet aluminum brake cooling air deflectors mount to our specially designed tension rods, to deflect air passing under the car towards the front brake rotors for increased brake cooling. These deflectors *will* make a significant difference in brake cooling on track. Anodized in colors to match our tension rods.
Note: These deflectors mount only to our v2 tension rods on specially machined mounting holes on our tension rods. The deflectors will not work with stock or any other aftermarket tension rods.
The adjustable front lower arm allows adjustment of the front roll center by changing the length of the shank attaching to spindle. Adjusting the roll center can reduce roll moment on lowered cars. This arm should be setup by a race alignment shop.

On cars that are lowered significantly, the stock outer tie rod ends can bind and snap or bend the tie rods. Our outer tie rod ends have more articulation angle than stock tie rod ends, and have adjustable spacers to move the outer tie rod end lower to eliminate binding.
When combined with our SPL pro front lower arms, our outer tie rod ends can also be adjusted to correct bump steer that results from lowering and modified front lower arm geometry.
We have been improving the strength of our tie rod ends since we first released this product over 2 years ago, to take the abuse of drifting as sudden steering lock places alot of stress on the outer tie rod ends. With each improvement, customers have been given free updates to their outer tie rod ends, as our commitment to offering the highest quality and safest suspension products. Features that distinguish our outer tie rod ends from our competitors:
Our unique design allows for easy bumpsteer adjustment in 0.3" increments, allowing for up to a +1" shift of the pivot point from the stock location. This offers much greater adjustment range than any other aftermarket outer tie rod ends.
The bumpsteer spacers are integral to the design and reinforce the shank under bending loads. Spacers are CNC machined from 2024 aircraft aluminum alloy (also known as Super Duralumin), a much stronger (and much more expensive) aluminum than the more common 6061, this expensive alloy is lightweight yet has almost the same strength as steel.
Our shanks are CNC machined from alloy steel, then hardened (by heat treatment) to maximize strength.
We use QA1's 5/8" teflon-lined chromoly high-misalignment rod end, this special rod end offers an incredible 65deg of articulation angle. This is more than stock (~50deg) and much more than other aftermarket tie rod ends (~35deg).
Our outer tie rod ends are designed to be used with either 90-96 300ZX (Z32) or 03+ 350Z (Z33) inner tie rods on the 240SX. The Z32 or Z33 inner tie rods are much stronger than the stock 240SX tie rods, are relatively cheap and easily sourced, and provide for a much larger range of toe adjustment than the stock 240SX inner/outer tie rod setup.
New for v4, to reduce unsprung weight, we now also make our buckles from the expensive but very strong 2024 aircraft aluminum alloy (Super Duralumin) instead of steel.
New for Version 5! Our shanks are now made from 9310 alloy steel. 9310 is an alloy noted for its incredible impact and fatigue strength, and for that reason is most commonly used in performance transmission gears! We use this alloy to take the abuse and shock loads from lock to lock steering in drifting. Our hardened 9310 shanks are certified for 190,000psi tensile strength.
Application notes: On a 240SX with stock knuckles, our outer tie rod ends should only be used with 300ZX (Z32) or 350Z/G35 inner tie rods; it cannot be used with standard 240SX (S13 or S14) inner tie rods. On a 240SX with certain modified knuckles (eg. MA Motorsports knuckle), you may need to use S14 inner tie rods with our outer tie rod ends, please verify with the maker of the knuckle for details. Please also refer to our selection of inner tie rods below.

We offer 3 types of inner tie rods for use with our outer tie rod ends, please pick the correct one for your application:
240SX with stock knuckles, for drift use: Tein Z33 inner tie rods. These beefy tie rods are much stronger than stock, and are supplied with steering angle spacers for increased steering angle.
240SX with stock knuckles, for grip or street use: OEM Z32 inner tie rods. These beefy tie rods are also much stronger than stock, and are supplied with locking plates for a full OEM install.
240SX with certain modified knuckles, for drift use: Tein S14 inner tie rods. Please confirm with the maker of your modified knuckles about compatibility; these inner tie rods are needed for certain knuckles that need a steering tie rod assembly that is longer than stock.
Note: All these inner tie rods are intended for use with our SPL outer tie rod ends only. They do not work with other brand outer tie rod ends.

Steering rack boots to fit Z32 or Z33 inner tie rods on the 240SX.
Steering angle spacers allow for increased steering angle at full lock, a necessity for drifting. Not recommended for road racing or street use.
Note: Please check amount of
thread on the tie rod if using tie rods from other sources, there should be at
least 1/2" of thread left with the spacer installed. Lock plates cannot be
used so tie rods need to be installed with locktite.
Note: Tein Z33 inner tie rods are sold with steering angle spacers
included, there is no need to purchase this separately.

Urethane steering rack bushings in black, holds the steering rack securely to reduce play and provide more steering feedback.
